C 6.15. Internal loss

Pieces of the material are missing from the internal area of the parchment and there are holes in the parchment.

The internal loss of the parchment is damage in the form of pieces torn out of the material for various reasons (negligent handling, etc.). The damage is often also described as holes in the parchment. This is damage that affects both the condition of the parchment and the preservation of the entire text.
