A 1.4. Armkude (ingl scar tissue)
Armkude on armistunud haavandid, mille pinna tekstuur (värvus, reljeef) erineb oluliselt pärgamendi ülejäänud pinnast.
Armid ja haavandid looma nahas viitavad haigustele ja loomade vähesele hooldatusele ja sellest tulenevalt ka toornaha madalale kvaliteedile. Mida olulisem dokument, seda vähem kohtab selle pinnal armkudet, sest tähtsate dokumentide jaoks kasutati võimalikult kvaliteetsest nahast valmistatud pärgamenti. Armkude muudab oma erineva tekstuuriga pärgamendi välisilmet ja säilivust.
