Small holes made for a specific purpose to mark a text, attach a parchment sheet to a writing frame or bind the sheets together.
Punctures were used to mark the position of the single-page document texts and folios throughout the content block.

Unbound parchment with punch holes.
A stretched, large-sized parchment document with a punch hole, bound together with an additional document formatted on paper. The unbound parchment is characterized by the fold lines of the folding of the document, the attachments of the paper additional document and the seal to the double fold of the parchment.
