A 1.2. Axilla or the area where limbs are attached to the body
The axilla is the area where visible changes may exist on the edges of a parchment document.
The texture and nature of the skin on the limbs and axilla differ significantly from the remaining area. The skin in these areas in denser, and therefore, it is more difficult to mechanically process these areas and to thin them by stretching. The older the animal, the greater the differences in the characteristics of the different areas. Based thereon, compared to the remaining surface, the parchment in the area of the limbs may be of a different thickness and the surface treatment may be uneven. These areas are often the cause of the parchment’s degradation and deformation.

Jäsemete keha külge kinnitumise ala e. jäsemete ala.
Pärgamendi degradeerunud alaks on alumises servas olev jäsemete ala, mis on tunduvalt paksem ülejäänud pärgamendist.
Degradeerunud alas on pärgamendi paksus 0,3mm, mis on ligi neli korda paksem ülejäänud pärgamendi keskmisest paksusest 0,08mm. br>
Area of attachment of limbs to the body e. limb area.
The degraded area of the parchment is the lower limb area, which is considerably thicker than the rest of the parchment.
In the degraded area, the thickness of the parchment is 0.3mm, which is nearly four times thicker than the average thickness of the rest of the parchment, which is 0.08mm.

Jäsemete keha külge kinnitumise ala e. jäsemete ala.
Läbivas valguses on dokumenteeritud degradeerunud ala pärgamendi vasakus servas, mis on tunduvalt paksem ülejäänud pärgamendist. br>
Area of attachment of limbs to the body e. limb area.
Transmitted light documents a degraded area on the left side of the parchment that is considerably thicker than the rest of the parchment.

Jäsemete keha külge kinnitumise ala e. lühidalt jäsemete ala.
Pärgamendi degradeerunud alaks on alumises servas läbivas valguses nähtav jäsemete ala, mis on tunduvalt paksem ülejäänud alast. Sellised alad põhjustavad sageli pärgamendi degradeerumist ja deformatsiooni. br>
Area of attachment of limbs to the body e. in short, the limb area.
The degraded area of the parchment is the area of the limbs visible in transmitted light at the bottom edge, which is considerably thicker than the rest of the area. Such areas often cause degradation and deformation of the parchment.

Jäsemete keha külge kinnitumise ala e. jäsemete ala.
Välisilmet muutev ja degradeerunud piirkond kaldvalguses pärgamendilehe äärtel koos naha ebaühtlase venitamise tunnustega.
Pärgamendi degradeerunud aladeks on paremas ja alumises servades olevad jäsemete alad, mis on tunduvalt paksemad ülejäänud pärgamendist. Sellest tulent on ka nahk veninud ebaühtlaselt. Sellised alad põhjustavad sageli pärgamendi degradeerumist ja deformatsiooni. br>
Area of attachment of limbs to the body e. limb area.
A disfiguring and degraded area in oblique light at the edges of a parchment sheet with signs of uneven stretching of the skin.
The degraded areas of the parchment are the limb areas on the right and bottom edges, which are considerably thicker than the rest of the parchment. As a result, the skin is stretched unevenly. Such areas often cause degradation and deformation of the parchment.

Jäsemete keha külge kinnitumise ala e. lühidalt jäsemete ala.
Õhukese ja hästi säilinud pärgamendi ainsaks degradeerunud alaks on servas olev jäsemete ala, mis on tunduvalt paksem ülejäänud pärgamendist. Kahjustus on hästi nähtav läbivas valguses.
Kui pärgamentdokumendi paksus on 0,08-0,38 mm, siis jäsemete ala piirkonnas on paksus üle 0,48mm. br>
Area of attachment of limbs to the body e. in short, the limb area.
The only degraded area of the thin and well-preserved parchment is the limb area at the edge, which is considerably thicker than the rest of the parchment. The damage is clearly visible in transmitted light.
If the thickness of the parchment document is 0.08-0.38 mm, then the thickness in the limb area is more than 0.48 mm.
